Thinking Cap Studio Training Packages

1. Thinking Cap Studio Boot Camp

   This one day, on-site course is targeted at non-technical users of Thinking Cap Studio. Participants will play the part of a Thinking Cap administrator and learn how to set-up and manage domains, workflow, revision control and other administrative functions. After an introduction to the fundamentals of the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and basic instructional design concepts, they will also act as subject matter experts (SMEs) and learn how to author and assemble courses in our authoring system.

   By the end of the day, participants will have authored a number of Sharable Content Objects (SCOs) and assembled them into workable aggregations suitable to form the foundation of an eLearning module or course. While assembling the aggregations they will also learn and apply the major SCORM sequencing rules that control learner progression through an eLearning course.

   Participants need no skills other than familiarity with the use of a web browser and word processor. This course is suitable for groups of up to 10 participants.

2. Thinking Cap Studio Developer’s Course

   While there are a number of professional service options available where custom templates can be created for the non-technical for a fee, many of our customers want to get their hands dirty. Thinking Cap Studio developer’s course takes small groups of up to five for three days of training on the creation of content structures, delivery templates and classroom templates.

   Working on real world examples, participants will leave this course with the skills required to set-up and execute a completely custom project within Thinking Cap. Previous knowledge of JavaScript and XSLT are great assets but participants with only HTML and CSS skills are also welcome.

Thinking Cap LMS Training Packages

1. Implementing and Administering Thinking Cap LMS

   How should I set up the domains in Thinking Cap to best reflect my organization? What metadata fields should we add for learners and courses? What activity types should we use in our competency maps? I want a report on how all fathers did in my parenting course… but I only want to see fathers under 25… from Texas… who completed in September… with a score of over 80%. Do you know how to get this report? We do. And so will you.

   This one day course covers the complete administration of our Learning Management System and reviews the decisions you need to make when you first implement the LMS and when you make changes in the years to come. No experience is required but a solid knowledge of your organization’s learning goals are essential.

2. Integrating Thinking Cap LMS with Other Applications

   While there are a number of professional service options available where custom templates can be created for the non-technical for a fee, many of our customers want to get their hands dirty. Thinking Cap Studio developer’s course takes small groups of up to five for three days of training on the creation of content structures, delivery templates and classroom templates.

   This one day course reviews the web service architecture of Thinking Cap Learning Management System with participants and provides code examples in C# and Java of common integrations. Participants are encouraged to work on the designs for their own integration projects and to work with the instructor on building a simple prototype using the intended SOAP client for your project.
