Thinking Camp 2008 was our "pilot" event and was a great success, this first dry run was held at the Gibraltar Point Conference Centre on Toronto Island September 25th and 26th.
Our goal was to hold Thinking Camp as an opportunity for developers and customers to meet and exchange ideas. Instead of following the usual conference agenda we decided to leave the board open. People could choose what they talked about, and all were free to comment. The result was two days of ongoing conversation, heated discussions, lively interactions and amazing results. Everyone involved agreed this was a unique opportunity to really step back and look at what we want to build and what users want to see.
Having clients involved in Thinking Camp showed us aspects of the process that the majority of companies neglect, their point of view.
Keeping the atmosphere casual resulted in free flowing information on all sides. Clients discovered how developers made their visions reality and developers discovered the ideas behind the projects they were working on.
When Thinking Camp 2008 concluded participants left the Island with a feeling of renewed excitement about Thinking Cap products and the potential to evolve the brand into something even better then it already was.
